Artist (Spain)
Born in 1992, today Indira Paganotto is one of Spain’s most prominent figures in the world of music. She had an eclectic upbringing alongside her father, who was the main source and educator for her now wealth of musical knowledge. As a DJ in the 80’s, he exposed Indira to a massive variety of genres including disco, jazz, acid house and goa music, it was the perfect home library.
Indira developed her passion for the sounds of traditional Indian and ethnic music thanks to her father’s influence, and you can hear many of its elements in her music today. Her sets are full of energy and undeniable danceability, with a quality selection of tracks that takes listeners on a journey through minimal, acid house, hypnotic techno and psy-trance. At 16 she played her very first DJ set at the Las Palmas based Moon Club, where she later became a resident, and soon another club called HEAVEN on the South of Gran Canaria. After 2 years of successful club plays on the island, she moved to Madrid where she could focus on producing and DJ’ing at a bigger scale. With no money, she lived with friends in the city and found a job at a restaurant whilst locking in a DJ residency at Stardust club. It was here she warmed up for international headliners, honed her mixing skills on vinyl and eventually moved to the countryside near Madrid, surrounded by nature, she found the place she could explore her music production greater than ever before.
It was at HEAVEN she was booked for a warmup set for Ian Pooley, who later asked her for some demos. In 2012, Ian released her first vinyl ‘Underground Love’ in 2012, followed by ‘Time Out Man’ in 2014 and ‘Kashmir’ in 2017. Totally 3 vinyls on Pooled Music at only 17 years old. Her early years saw releases on Refused, Copycow, Octopus and Second State with ‘Red Ninja’ in 2021. It was after that release Charlotte de Witte, signed Indira’s 4 track EP ‘Himalaya’ on KNTXT, which followed with a 2nd in 2022 called ‘Lions Of God’.
In the last decade that she has been producing she’s moved through manic sonic palettes, starting out with minimal house, before she found her niche with ‘psy-techno’, a genre she has invented and claimed. Indira has never derailed from her instinct and own aesthetic, which have led to this creative and exciting fusion of two genres.
The real explosion came in 2023, not only because of her debut collaboration with Nina Kraviz ‘White Horse’ on Trip, but the launch of her new label ARTCORE with her EP ‘Guns & Horses’. After 15 releases, today ARTCORE is spearheading the ‘psy-techno’ movement and is developing a cult like following for this new sound, something fresh and exciting, injecting new life into an oversaturated market. It's the label’s VA releases that have push the brand to the next level. ARTCORE now approaches its second year where the brand will have a 10-date worldwide tour of label showcases, hosting an ARTCORE stage at some of the biggest festivals including Mysteryland, Tomorrowland and Dreambeach. Today, ARTCORE is one of the biggest dance labels around when it comes to dance music, whilst also carving a niche in the market, and
effectively developing its own genre.
In the last 12 months, Indira’s rise has been unstoppable, from headlining all major clubs and events, such as Awakenings, Tomorrowland, Circoloco, Amnesia Ibiza, EXIT festival, Fabric London, EDC Las Vegas, Thuishaven, Bar Americas, Nordstern, EDC Las Vegas, Cocorico, Space Miami as a resident, DC-10, and many others, Indira’s become one of the most in- demand names across the globe.
After her residency in Ibiza last year for 8 dates at Amnesia with Joseph Capriati as part of his Metamorfosi series, it was no surprise that after time spent in the studio together, resulted in their debut joint EP ‘Mantra’ on ARTCORE. Collaborations are something fans can expect more of in 2025, after having the honour of remixing ‘People Are Good’, a track from Depeche Mode’s latest album. Paving the way for opportunities in 2025 that will perhaps make it one of the most important career defining years yet. Kicking off with a remix for Sara Landry on HEKATE, the duo will be playing a debut b2b set at EXIT Festival in Serbia later in the summer. Another first, was her b2b set with the legendary Armin Van Buren at ADE, at Armada HQ, the stream was so successful they have announced their first official b2b at Sonar Festival, so it comes as no surprise to hear the duo will be releasing a very special joint release on Armada soon. Collaborations will be plenty in 2025, with her debut album in late 2025, along with key partnerships with Moto GP, Defender and W Hotels.
After her debut performance at the legendary Coachella Festival in April, a brand-new residency at Hi Ibiza will soon be announced, for the full 14 weeks of summer, and last but not least – she will be the first female in history to close the main stage at Monegros Festival, a dream come true for many, especially the girl from the canary islands, who still remains one of the most humble artists given her insanely impressive success. A testament to the way she has been bought up,
and how she continues to set an example for others in the industry. Indira’s future is as bright as her smile: with her energy, humble nature, and dedication to work,
she has always stayed true to the sound she wanted to produce, a journey that has not been easy at times when many didn't understand her vision. A vision that is now very real, for an artist who has become an icon and global phenomenon in her own right.
