Summit Session: Get Played, Get Paid: Royalties in the Middle East

Having been at college in the UK at the peak of Acid House and after a somewhat random 10 years in Banking, Mark took his first step into the music industry, joining PRS for Music in 2004. Mark championed Electronic Music within PRS, pushing for better engagement with producers, artists and labels as well as calling for adoption of music recognition technology in clubs to ensure royalties flowed to the correct music creators and rights owners.

Mark left PRS in 2014 to set up Black Rock Publishing and lead the newly created Association for Electronic Music. After 3 years at AFEM, Mark stepped down to focus on the publishing company which, by this time, had been purchased by Sentric Music Group. Sentric’s electronic music division grew rapidly from that point onwards, with diverse and influential signings from across the scene.

Now, as the publishing function within Believe Music Group, the client list includes ANNA, ARTBAT, LTJ Bukem, Christian Smith, Dennis Cruz, Felix Da Housecat, Jess Bays, Leo Wood, Maceo Plex, Mollie Collins, Macky Gee, DJ Pierre, Phil Hartnoll (Orbital), Silk, Toolroom, Roger Sanchez, Victor Ruiz and more.
