Rawan Al Dabbas is an influential leader in the music industry, currently serving as the Regional Director for the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) in the MENA region. In this pivotal role, she champions the value of recorded music, and advocates for the rights of record producers, ensuring a vibrant and sustainable music ecosystem. With a robust background as a lawyer, Rawan previously led the Legal, Copyright, and International department at the Emirates Publishers Association. There, she played a crucial role in fostering relationships with local, regional, and international stakeholders, including government entities, on key issues affecting the UAE's publishing landscape.
Her efforts have significantly strengthened the copyright legal framework for publishers in the UAE. Notably, she facilitated crucial discussions with the UAE Ministry of Economy and various stakeholders, culminating in the establishment of ERRA (The Emirates Reprographic Rights Management Association), the region’s first copyright collective management organization.
